Moving Average Masterclass
An evening course on interpreting SMA and EMA behaviour across timeframes — crossovers, slope, distance from price, and common misreads.
Who it is for
Traders and serious self-directed investors who already plot moving averages but want a clearer method for reading them. You do not need a professional desk — you do need charts you can annotate and a willingness to slow down before acting on a cross.
What you leave with
By the final evening you will have written rules for:
- Choosing lookback lengths that match your holding period
- Reading slope and price distance without treating every touch as a signal
- Distinguishing a meaningful crossover from a noisy one
- Knowing when an average is describing the past more than guiding the next bar
Included
- Three facilitated evenings with printed worksheets and chart packs
- Annotated examples from ASX equities, FX majors, and selected index futures
- Access to a private review channel for two weeks after the last session
- Seat for one guest observer on the final evening (optional)
Not included
- Brokerage advice, stock picks, or managed trading
- Software licences or platform subscriptions
- Guaranteed performance outcomes
How the evenings run
Evening one — Foundations. Simple versus exponential averages, lag as a feature, and why the same 50-period line behaves differently on daily and hourly charts.
Evening two — Interpretation drills. Crossovers, ribbon stacks, and price interaction. Participants mark charts before discussion so the room hears decisions, not only theory.
Evening three — Decision rules. You draft personal filters — minimum slope, confirmation bars, and when to ignore a signal during low-range sessions. We review drafts together.
Duration and place
Three evenings, 2.5 hours each, usually Tuesday–Thursday across one week. Sessions are held at our Martin Place studio. A limited number of live remote seats can be arranged when travel is impractical.
Preparation
Bring charts from the markets you actually trade. We ask for three annotated examples before evening two. No coding or specialised software is required beyond whatever charting you already use.
Pricing basis
AUD 780 per participant for scheduled group dates. Private cohorts of three to five people can be arranged at a quoted day rate. A 30% deposit confirms your place; the balance is due seven days before the first evening.
Next step
Enquire about the next masterclass and tell us which markets you watch. We will confirm the upcoming Sydney dates or discuss a private cohort.
Reserve a place
Ask about the next available date or a private session on the same material.
